What other internet sites sell wiring harnesses for the MK3 besides suprasport.com? they seem to be very expensive on the suprasport site.

yep, it's a rumor ;) Europe's Toyota warehouse in Finland has 3 right now for 89+ :)

OK 3 harnesses...the harnesses are vin specific. A 1990 has a different ECU if I remember correctly. There are plenty available for a 92manual.
If you are looking for a right hand drive harness...yep they have a few more available.......we in the USA have LHD
IF you find a LHD auto harness lmk I will but it on the spot.

Check the harness with your VIN....it is actuallly really important

The only difference I saw in the parts catalog today was production date and MTM or AUTO. There should be a part # tag on the harness somewhere (near the ECU end I think). The only 89+ AUTO harness I found today that was not noted as "discontinued" was from production date 08/91 - and there was 0 in the US @ any depot.

I believe a good used harness is gonna be your best bet.

The pre89's are very hard to find and may have run out by now but there are some 89+ left, call JEFF at Champion Toyota, if you talk to anyone but Jeff you will get just a laugh from a dumb Toyota employee who think Toyota doesn't make parts for our ancient dinosaurs.

HA!

Champion and Elmhurst both said they where discontinued when I asked...

My local dealer said none where when I bought mine for around $600...

Yes, they need your VIN to make sure you get the right part.

Thanks for your vote of confidence in us parts guys.

Pre- 89 were/are yellow ECU plug harness and 89+ were/are grey plug harnesses. Early 89's had a "grey" area (pardon the term) where it was a gey connector harness, but worked w/ some pre 89 stuff.

Does anyone know the difference between the 89+ and the 87-88?
Can the 89+ be converted to the 87?
