hey guys, im having some cams reground with a smaller base circle through a company we deal with at my work, i just need to know who makes lash caps for the JZ motors? if its one of the major companies i can get a hell of a deal on it.

Most companies ive looked at have different valve widths listed, what is the size of the jz if anyone knows?

thanks guys

lash as in the shims? toyota has them. A machine shop might have them. They're pretty common on all newer toyotas.

lash caps usually go under the stock buckets to take up the clearence left by smaller base circle cams so you get back into the stock shim adjustment range.

bingo, i just have no idea what size id need to get.

sizes ive found are

5/16
11/32
3/8
6mm (crower's site has this listed as toyota set of 24, so maybe?)
8mm

I come from a land down under
You need to measure the pocket in the top of the retainer to get caps the right diameter that will locate correctly.

Then you need to know how much is missing from the base circle so you can get the right thickness.

once the cams are in, and i have them shimmed right, im gonna go to shimless buckets, but thats not for a while

so yamaha shims are cheaper than getting them from toyota?
