I need help with 1 wire plug..I am unsure of where this plugs into.

I have attached pics to aid you in seeing what I'm referring to. The pics are kinda dark so if they dont justify then I will get more pics during the daylight.

-Under the lower intake manifold, there is a wire harness bundle that goes through the manifold closest to the firewall side. There is a branch of 4 connectors together (I got all of these connected) and there is another branch of 3 connectors(I only got 2 of these connected). Where does the smallest plug go to.

It is a grey plug with two prongs..1 on each side. This grey plug is attached to another maroon plug that connects under the manifold right near the block. The gray plug has a very short amount of wire so it can't go too far.

Pic 1. Feed that up through the intake like the hose in pic 3. That metal tab will fit over a stud sticking up. Should be fairly self explanatory once you get it up through the lower intake.

Pic 3. Looks like the water line that runs up into the throttle body. If so, replace it now!!!!! You don't want that blowing on you after it's all put together. It runs off the hard coolant pipe that wraps around the engine.

Can't remember what pic 2 is about.

Get some better, clearer, bigger pictures. It would be easier to see what you're talking about then. I can hardly see that connector, much less ID it.

Pic 2 - looks like it could be the EGR temp sensor. You a cali car? Should throw a code 71 if not connected.

edit: or the alarm horn on the firewall.

Pic 1: I'm thinking this is the bov vac connector that mounts on the right side of the plastic valve/plug cover?

Pic 3: Im think the line your referring to is the hose that comes out of the right most opening in the manifold. Im good with that one. In pic 3, we are looking at the left most opening. I dont even know if its suposed to be routed through the hole, but it is for picture purposes.

Looks to be the EGR temp sensor to me. (I had / have the same one) The alarm wire harness isn't that low in the harness

There are 2 water lines that run between the intake. The rear one comes up into the throttle body. The front one comes off the ISCV and down into the block.

Thanks for all your help guys.

I know where all the vacuum lines go now. I know I would have figured it out while I was putting everything back together but since the engine will sit like this for a few more weeks, I would feel much more comfortable knowing where everything would be connected.

All I am stumped on now is the 1 harness plug in pic 2.
Again, this is a grey colored plug that is branched off a maroon plug. The maroon plug connects near the block. The gray plug has a much shorter wire so the connector can't be too far but I cant seem to find it. Anyone?

Hint: Next time you remove and disassemble an engine, take DETAILED pictures, and lots of them. Imagine if you had pictures of those part's locations, before you removed them. We probably wouldn't be here now.

well after going through it now, if there is a next time it will be cake.

I am beginning to think this plug goes nowhere..I don't remember unplugging this one but I'm not 100% positive.

I have the upper manifold off so I have a pretty decent view under the lower intake manifold. After searching/feeling around I can't seem to find the other end of this connector.

It only has an inch or 2 of play in the wire so im beginning to think it doesnt go anywhere?

Has anyone recently taken apart/put back together their engine and knows exactly where this small grey plug goes?

After taking into consideration from what I received in coments here I'll attempt again to solve this dilemma when I get back from work tomorrow evening; if I still cant find it I will snap additional pics.

I'm just about to put my head back on. If I find where it goes and you haven't at that point, I'll let you know.

I just got my HG done a couple weeks ago and I was confused like you for a minute on that plug. I did have to look back at the pictures that I took and found that that harness plug doesn't connect anywhere and was just taped to the wire that plugs into the starter(maroon connector). That is how I put it back together and everything seems fine so I wouldn't worry about it.
