I'm in the process of splicing the wires in for my Prosport boost and EGT gauges. I used the green wire that goes to the cig lighter for the ACC, but I'm not sure where to tap in the constant +, Ground and parking lights. If I tap into the wires for the radio, do I have to worry about alternator whine as a result?

If so, where should I tap the wires?

FYI, my car does not have the battery hookups installed so testing wire connections with a multimeter is not an option for me.

i tapped my + to my radio, - directly to the battery (hooked with alarm and turbo timer)
then i fed another wire from the batt to a switch for the lights.

p.s. im going to change the + wires that are going to the radio to the cig wires.
hope that helps.

im not a big fan of using the cig lighter wiring, its tiny wiring. not that a guage is a huge electrical demand.

be sure you fuse everything properly too.

I used the radio harness and made some little distribution blocks, because I've got 7-8 things that all have similar power requirements.

Without power and a VM it could be hard to do though; offhand idk exactly which wires they are for constant, switched, and illuminate. As far as radio whine - can't say... don't have a radio.

Just my 2 cents, but since you made your distribution blocks, why not tap a separate power feed to them off the battery? As far as radio whine... sounds to me like you are describing what is actually amplifier whine, caused by incorrect wiring, improper wire size for the wattage you are pushing, and a whole bunch of other stuff that would take to long to describe lol. If you are not running a amplifier, and you have this radio whine..then I would not want to go near your car. You have current surging and fluctuation going on which could lead to a electrical fire. I just hope this "whine" you are referring to is not what I think it is.

1. That would only cover 1 of the 3 (+) signals gauges need.
2. There are already fused, laid out circuits in place right where I need them... why on earth would I want to run more wiring to the battery for no reason?

these are real nice. small and individually fused.
