Where did my hood bolt go?

When I was taking off the hood, I placed them in the rain drain galley at the bottom of the windshield for safe keeping until I could carry the hood elsewhere. But somehow bumped the bolt and it went rolling down into the rain drain hold in the corner (see picture). So where does this drain go? The bolt didn't come out the bottom of the car. What can I take off to get at this hole?

It's probably lodged in your fender. Open the door and Look for it, if not take off your fender well liner.

Pull off the mudflap on that side and reach up from the bottom, you'll get it. It's likely to be a rather disgusting mess in there, mine sure was when I did that.

Might have to take the bottom 2 bolts out of the fender as well. I lost a lighter down there one time....

Combine what Grim and Cuel said, and you have your answer. And, pay special attention to the part Grim said about a mess. Most times it's like a rats nest in there.

Durring my rebuild I pressure washed all those spots out. You may well find other missing componets from your car...I sure did, 3 screws, 2 bolts of unknown origin, a lock washer, and lots of crud.:runaway:

How do I take off the mud flap after I unbolt it? It seems to be glued on or something. Do I just pull real hard?

Yup, pull straight away from the body. There are three pop-in clips holding it on.
