where can i get a cheap catalytic converter

The dealer wants over 400 for a new cat. Where can i get a cheap one with FLANGES. I don't want to have one welded on.

well you can purchase a new high flow one for a few hundred or go used and pick up a stock cat for like $25. If you don't want a cat you can get a test pipe but sounds like you want a cat.

Both will bolt right up to your DP and cat back no problems (no welding).

I would like a cat, but maybe i should put on a 3" test and swap it out with the cat when i need it.

I am also a little nervous about how loud this will be. Hks downpipe to 3" test to greddy catback with resonator.

you can get a used cat and a test pipe for under $100 I'd guess. Get both and you'll have some flexibility for sound/cat.

Mine had flared ends to accept 3" pipe inside.

We do not have testing here so I do not know how to answer you there.. It sure smells better..

I only see one for 141.99. At least with one with flanges, need the flanges. But anyway, I just found out that Illinois starting in 07 there will be no emission testing for cars 95 and older. ABOUT FRICKEN TIME Maybe i should just go with 3 inch test now

yeah aaron was wrong, it is 141 not 59. Got my hopes up too heh. And the R/T is like $240 so at least it is way cheaper.

as far as sound goes its not to bad w/o the cat especially b/c u have a resontor too, i run just 3" turbo-back to the muffler and its not excessive at all
