The place I use always preps. I used to prep before I brought them anything, but they told me not to bother because they do it anyway.

Call and ask. Personally, I'd prep them myself to make sure its done right.

Normally powder coaters sand blast them, then coat.

If you find a powdercoater that has good rep, this isn't going to be a problem. They have better tools than me to get stuff prepped correctly.

and my garage has ZERO room in it, I'd LOVE to have a blast cabnet, cept I have no room.
