My brother wants to know if he needs bigger injectors for his 1jz if he put in 264/272 cams? If you need to know the other mods he has, 3'' dp, exhaust, 2.5 int. piping, 24x12x3, intake.

I'd like to hear a reponse from someone with the cams, I don't want the "I think, I would" replies, not to down your inteliigence and that will be upgraded eventually but my original question has not been answered unless csnow: you have put cams on your 1jz?

Never mind, I don't give a shit. Roll the dice if you wish.....

Ok you didn't answer my QUESTION: Do I need to upgrade my fuel (injectors) for 264/272 cams? You and people tried to tell me what I'll need for full fuel upgrade, all I wanted to know was injector size. I know the supporting mods I will need and I don't want all these newbie questions which I have answers to.

AFR can't be diagnosed across the internet, nor can one engines mods be compared to another similar motor. Guess if you wish, just carry a bucket to pick up the pieces.

Good day.

How can the quetion of will the stock injectors pump out enough for these cams pertain to afr. Anyones setup on a 1j with stock twins and cams can tell me if they were sifficent, because they will have their afga and have their info, so infact yes they can be compared, not for a full fuel upgrade but to see if stock injectors give an ample amount of fuel. And btw this a heated arguement I'm not trying to be an ass I'm just trying to find 1jz cam upgrade only dealing with cam upgrades.

...oh yeah.... Good Day....lol

I bought Tissimo's 1J that had cams. He was running 550s though but with a T67.

I ran stock injectors on stock twins with crower small core 272 cams. Worked fine. The duty cycle got into the 90s when you pushed up to 7500rpm, but it still flowed.

Based in this and Keith's post, I would say getting bigger injectors and at least an AFC would be a good idea.

Ideally, you would want to run a bit leaner on bottom and fatter on top (near redline) to be "safe".

93 in every vehicle is overkill higher octane doesnt mean more performance from your engine. if you have a NA car with around 9:1 compression ratio crappy grade is fine unless it haves lots of deposits and miles on it then mid grade is a must because of the increased compression from deposits.

10:1 or higher compression needs premium gas so any forced induction car would really need it yes!

If you plan to do only the above mods you mentioned and stay there without going any further then 440's or 550' would be fine with only needing a AFC you will need a proper tune at least one time and use a O2 wideband to get you mix right every engine is a little diffrent so people cant tune your engine over the internet.

If your going single and going above and beyond the mods you mentioned go to a standalone and the 1jzgte fuel rail is limited to 550cc so you will have to get an aftermarket top feed rail if you plan to have more then 550hp
