i recently purchased some sportmax racing 962 rims, 17x9 all round, i'm gonna put 275's out back and 255's on the front. my question was about the offset, they all are 35mm, is this the right offset and will they look good?

the fronts will rub like a mutha. i had 235's on the front on a 16 insh rim and they rubbed l;ike crazy when i was turning into a parking spot or something
no, they will hang out way to far with a 35mm offset
My old wheels (pitchured in sig) were 17x8 w/ 43mm offset and 245/45/17 tires in the front and (they really should have been 45mm and 50mm) rubber slightly on the fender lip and the rears were 17x9 w/43mm offset and 275/40/17 tires and were a prefect fit.
Remember, MKIV TT wheels are 17x8 in the front and they are 50mm offset and fit perfectly
A key note is that as wheel width increases, offset has to also or they will hang put of the fenders

Actually Chris, many people feel that the MkIV rims are sunk in too far. There are several people that used spacers to bring them back out again.
Do a google for "Wheel Offset Calculator" and click the first link 1010something. Put in the stock #s and then the new #s and you will find out a lot of really cool information. Also try the MkIV #s and see the difference.

BTW, just did the calc (www.1010tires.com) and the and the stock face is the same with the stock MKIII and MKIV wheels. The calc also confermed exactly what I said my old 5Z's and the wheels that he posted about. The calc stated 21mm which happen to be about.010" over 13/16".

Try to run a little skinnier tire, along with the lowest profile you can get. Should look really good! I've seen a 240SX(S13) with a staggered fitment setup, 17x9f, and 18x9.5r, and it looked sweet. He had to roll his fenders, but that is no big deaL. Just find a reputable person with the rolling tool, and you will be very happy with the results! And be sure to post "mounted, and rollin'" pics!!!:icon_razz
pics of the rims on my car. no rubbing what soever, the fronts fit perfect, there's even more room for a bigger tire but that's not needed. the rears sit flush with the fenders and that's with a 35mm offset and a 275 40 17 tire.

hey IJ is your car lowered? cause i wanna get some h&r springs, 1.6 in the front and 1.3 in the rear cause right now my car has a terrible stock spring cut mod. i hate it cause they cut the rears in different spots i guess and now my left rear is like a half inch lower than the right. i wonder if i get some h&r's if i'll rub or will it tuck the wheels into the fender wells?
Yep quite a bit just doesn't look it in that pic as it had just come off the jack and hadn't settled yet!

thanks bro, these rims ain't bad for the price. pretty light i think. 28lbs without tires i haven't weighed them but that's what the shipping weight was.
