The craziest thing I’ve ever attempted to fix or improve on my Supra was trying to boost the horsepower with a series of aggressive modifications without fully understanding the potential risks involved. At one point, I decided to upgrade the turbocharger, install larger fuel injectors, and re-map the ECU to push more power. However, the process was far from straightforward. The turbo install didn’t go as smoothly as expected, resulting in boost leaks and a noticeable loss of power instead of the anticipated increase. On top of that, the new fuel system I set up led to inconsistent fueling, causing the car to run dangerously lean. After several failed attempts at tuning, I ended up overheating the engine and had to completely strip down the motor to rebuild it from scratch. It was a long and expensive learning experience, but it taught me the importance of thorough research, proper planning, and respecting the limits of mechanical upgrades. Nowadays, I take a more methodical approach to improving my Supra, focusing on upgrades that enhance performance while maintaining reliability.
