What's more restrictive? The exhaust or the headers?

For you technical people, I do realize that the headers are part of the exhaust, but I think you know what I'm talking about.

The exhaust system and catalytic converters especially.
I've heard that the factory exhaust manifold is very efficient and flows quite well.

^ yeah, one look at the exhaust sytem should clue you in on that. The car has what, 3-4 cats? Maybe only 2-3 on the NA.

*edit*
and there'sthat section that they bend flat and also throw a bend into it also. That can never help.

Agreed i was jsut thinking about that.

Turbo ones are jsut after the turbo, in the downpipe, and in the "regular" cat converter spot right near the center driveshaft. And the NA one is near the center drifeshaft area as well.

I found that if you leave the factory header alone and just go with a 2.5" test pipe. You can pick up about 8 ft lbs. of torque and maybe 4-5 hp. This is an estimate gain from what I tried on mine.
