Ok, I don't know what this stuff is. I pulled the heads off of both my Supras (ugh!) and when I pulled the head from my 87, which is the car I'm planning to keep, it's nicer, I discovered this gold paint lookin stuff coating the inside of the cam valley areas. It comes right off with a touch of a finger (see pic) and feels like cheap paint that's been soaked with brake fluid or paint stipper or something like that. Did Toyota use any kind of internal coating like this? I more think it's probably from some type of "engine rebuild" oil additive. Anyone see something like this? Should I be concerned? I don't really have means (time, $$ or equip) to pull engine for rebuild or cleanup. I'm not so concerned about the head, it's going on the car I'm going to sell. But this shit has to be through the whole engine, I would guess. Just don't know about this stuff... . . . . . . .
