What's a normal price for 3 runs on a dyno?.. just to measure power and a/f. Not AWD or anything, for a Supra.

Location would help. Carma here does 80 a run for off days, and when they have dyno days, like they had today, they where 20 a run.

I've paid between $40 and $60 for dyno day runs, just strap in, run it twice, no tuning or anything...

Damn... The cheapest I've ever seen around here is $60 for 3 runs (no tuning) and it was a one-week special. The closest load dyno to me charges $100 an hour to tune (thats with you tuning, them running the dyno) and the clock starts as soon as your call rolls onto the lift.

Around here on dyno day it runs $50 for 3 pulls, no tuning, just hook and go. They make there $$$ in volume. Other wise about $125 a hour & 800 for the day IIRC.

I really hope my friend gets his dyno for the shop... would be the only one for at least 200+ miles. Sounds like it could be a good investment.

Rob's got it right- $50 for 3 pulls is a good deal for a dyno day.
$65-75 is the regular rate, renting the dyno (you tune, they run dyno) is $100/hr, having them tune on the dyno is $150/hr.
These are prices from a local shop with a dyno dynamics AWD unit. He got my AEM dialed in on pump gas in 3 hours, so very affordable IMO. :)

Just a thought, but if there's a school like WyoTech or UTI around, they may have a day (usually around orientation) where you can pull in and do a couple free pulls. WyoTech in Sac did about a year back...my buddy got his VR4 tuned that day for $100, which is what he tipped the guy that had an AEM-equipped laptop with him. Been making 550awhp on low boost ever since, 610 on high when he paid $500+ for a shop to do it a few months back.
