a friend of mine has bought a supra. headgasket was blown, so we did it. runs fine. turbo oil drain line fractured and was leaking everywhere. so, ordered jblmk3's ss braided ct26 line and am waiting on arrival.
in the meantime, he pulls the turbo off and cleans up the area around it.

so as he is scraping the feed/return gasket off of the turbo, his stepdad just fucking loses it. apparently he is scraping off the gasket with a putty knife of his stepdads that was laying on the workbench under a bunch of tools.
promptly apologizing, he explains that he will purchase a new putty knife at the store tomorrow.

stepfather goes on ranting about something like "thats not the point" or something along those lines... blah blah blah.
so, the situation escalates and my friend is unsure how to slow this downward spiral of "you have no respect for what is mine" and so on. before you know it, his stepfather picks up a claw hammer thats laying on the ground and he throws it.

throws it in the direction of the supra.

and it smashes into the fender, creating a large dent that only a hammer thrown from 25 feet away could.

now, for someone who is trying to teach the values of respecting others property, havent we just taken 9 steps backwards?

as such, when i heard this, a lump formed in my throat. followed by some sort of rage and now finally, some thoughts of revenge or retaliation.

my question is this:
what would you do in a situation such as this?

wow, sounds like the guy (stepfather) has some anger management issues. It seems to be a problem maybe the mother and son can solve by approaching the dad. Or just light his (stepdad's) car on fire.

well, the guy is basically unapproachable with any sort of problem. he's just one of those uncaring motherfuckers.

and i thought the same thing about doing something to his car, but it's a 96 lumina. nothing short of a godsend if i lit it on fire...

If my drunken lunatic step dad EVER did something like that. He would have been bludgened do death with the very hammer that hit my car. Wihout a doubt. Man I can't even explain how pissed I would be; just reading this story makes me hate my step dad even more then I do now... since I know he would do something like it.

Anywho, whatever your retaliation is... post pics when you're done!! :D

That's something that I think the birth dad needs to take up with mom. Either that or get the lawyers involved between the two families. Are things still amicable or was it a nasty divorce? If things are still okay between them, maybe mom can work something out. Either way, it was still willful property damage. Maybe Adjuster has some insight. The dude also needs to understand there are consequences for your actions!

How very disturbing...How big is your friend and how big is the step-dad? I say let 'em put on some 16oz gloves and go at it like gentlemen. Thats how I'd like to handle some conflicts I've had in the past...but I have somewhat of an advantage over most people(6'2" 220lbs). But I really do think that a good old boxing match can do wonders. (Dont quote me on that, Im no expert or anything) Alot of times with men (especially when it comes to our toys) talking about a problem is out of the question.

My answers:
#1 Boxing
#2 Talking
#3 If number two fails try number one.

file report with police imidatly 1 his actions have a consaquence as well 2 it might cause a rift but with that kind of person you cant do it anny other way who wants to live with that any how 3 get mom involved might be suprised what happens 4 go buy that puddy knofe be the better man 5 do not do any thing to his stuff he will just go off agin 6 find a friend where you can keep the car out of his reach -he has alreddy shown that he has no respect for your property whats to stop him taking a bat to it next time you two have a dissagreement 6 get the hell out of there as soon as you can -this guy is not stable i went through this at my home and it cost me my relationship with my mother and my truck due to him beating the shit out of it with a #30 sledge because i used his drill to get the bondo out of the bed sides
if nothing eltse make your self and belongings safe from this guy

ohh step parents.. don't even get me started.

this is simple; i would say " throw up your f*cking hands you little cunt yo. f*cking tough guy. now, im going to smash your face in a bit to make me feel better about what you just did to my friends car."

well, this is what i would do if anybody around isn't a bitch and calls the cops. if that's not the case, it would be dealt with legally.

i too, had issues with a step parent before, so i don't particullary(sp?) like them.

oh my god, that is horrible. hypocritical to the max. i thinki might try to get mom on my side. and if that dont work then the cops/lawyers. and if that doesnt work then just relax, maybe go out to the mall and get yourself a nice pair of shoes, something with a stilletto heel, and stab your stepdad through the eye with it. i would have lost it right there, i got a nice breaker bar that i would have hit him with.

^hahaha. There are soooo many options.
(you/your stands for your friend and not you)
I don't have a step dad, actually I have a great dad with a bad temper sometimes. If it were me...I'd smash the shit outta the putty knife, burn the hammer, turn the car around and cover EVERYTHING in the garage in a nice light layer of rubber! :burnout:

or get in a huge argument with the mom and hopefully she'll turn around and take it out on him. she SHOULD take her sons side and not some other prick mother*uckers

call the cops. Tell them that he threw a hammer at your car. (unless of course the car is in his name)

go kick one of the rims on the lumina, it's bound to fall apart :icon_razz

You being the friend, I don't know what I'd do. Try and be the mature one and the 'moderator' of a discussion. A witness to what happened.

I have never had a step parent but my parents are divorced. I did punch a friends stepdad in the face before though (actually, the friend was my g/f, and the guy was a complete ass hole), it was a true emergency and he wouldn't let me in the house, and he wouldn't get out of my way. When I tried to force myself into the house he swung, so I put him on the floor

step parents are piece of shit bloodsuckers, imho. yeah, your mother/father should take your side instead of the side of whichever step parent, but that isn't always the case. ask me how i know. step parents do nothing but ruin your life.

..and then when they ruin everything, do real grimey things behind your back, lie about you to your real parent, so their own son doesn't look like the only asshole, get between a father and his son, so you always need to know what father and son talk about...etc, oh i can go on.

stop giving a f*ck about the both of them and get yourself the hell out, then end up doing better than the both of them (like me!) in life, so you can rub it in their faces.

I would have to say I agree with every opinion on this thread, if that's possible. I think I would get Johnny Law and find out what I could do to this guy to let him know I meant business. If the title is in your friends name, I would definitely get the law involved. I had a step mother (had:)) and all she did was that kind of shit. I wish I would have socked it to her then, maybe she'd still be paying for it. Tell your friend to take this very seriously now, or he'll pay for it later. Make that jackass, power tripping mother f*cker pay for his bullshit. nuf said.

take lots of pictures and File a claim in court for the Damages..... but get a police report so you can get him saying he did it to the cops.... He can say it was in his garage and all that shit but the fact remains that it is your Freinds car and not the Prick step dads...

Make him Pay!!!

To keep Peace in the House... Mabey offer him a settlement....Tell him that he will have to pay more if you go to court....

This kind of shit sucks but as a father I do sometimes go off on my son but never do i raise a fist at him in any way.... Sometimes I do throw shit in my own shop or Garage but Never at or near a car thats not my own.... or a person for that matter.

The guy Simply Fucked up... Now he has to pay.... Plain and Simple!!!

I would use reverse psychology......yes retaliation seems to be a good idea...but nothing would come of it except more hate and anger......and lumps in throats.

I would go out, buy a REAL nice putty nife, and wrap it in a box and put present paper and a bow on top.....and just give it to him with a smile.

It doesnt matter WHO you are, if you were the step dad you KNOW you would feel like crap......

give it to him and walk away...dont talk to him for days. When he comes home, act like you are taking off the fender........you get the jist.
