I have 300.00 to spend on the next upgrade. The 2 things left on my list is

1. Electronic boost controller (currently have a manual)
2. Upgraded Intercooler

Of these 2 items what would you buy first.
The other upgrades that have just been installed
550cc's , Lex AFM , SAFC-II , Walbro,
I can only buy 1 of them right now. so what would be the best next step.
I am going this friday to the Dyno to have it all tuned up.

Do you have a Wideband o2? If not, that would probably be my suggestion for the next mod.

Choosing between the two you have listed, I would go with an intercooler (if you can find a good one for only $300). I have MBCs on both my turbo cars, and haven't had any issue with them or found a need to go with an electronic boost controller. Perhaps I'll change my mind later in my modding stages with the Supra.

Well, the Wideband can still serve as a warning tool even after the tuning is finished. And when you happen to change the setup in the future, you'll be able to retune it accordingly.

I'm pretty cautious with tuning, so I like to know what's going on at all times. That's why I got the Zeitronix wideband at an early stage (now), with the LCD display so I can monitor it in the car without a laptop.

john... how much is xat charging you for the tune?

imo you should take the 300 and get the 280 dollar aem uego WB... its a great wb and is always useful.

after that let me know and ill street tune the car for ya....

the thing with the intercooler is youll need more then 300 for an ic and hardpipes which IMO should be done at the same time. you need about 400-500 to make up a full setup for that.

and as said previously you have a manual boost controller so the ebc isnt needed right now.

i vote get the aem uego and save the money on any tuning in the future ;)

I would also say go with the WB. Like Ideal said, your looking at more than 300$ for an IC setup.

and, correct me if im wrong, after you get hardpipes and a better flowing IC, there is a good chance you will hit fuel cut lower w/o some sort of A/F computer.

get a wideband dude.... unless you want to take the risk of blowing up your engine. cars can get out tune for a variety of reasons. plus it's one more thing to look at when you're driving to get used to and pick up on any small changes that may be happening to your car so you can catch issues before they become big problems.

ok.. aem uego .. One more thing for Idealsupra to install for me.. hehe. When I first got the car it had the LM1 In it. I did not realize I should have kept it. I sold it :( . But live and learn.

So where is a good place to get this aem uego ?

Oh and XAT is chargeing me 120.00 for the tune. and I will see how much it changed with the upgrades. The dyno is setup for tomorrow. Should I not go?

if you get wb...cancel the dyno

ill tune it for you.

any major supplier will have the aem uego... i recommend calling titan an asking for either sean or mark and tell them that jayson idealsupra sent you.... they will help you out and get you what you need quick.

once you get it let me know and we can work something out for install and tune ;)

Alright, time for the butt dyno! Those are always more fun (and a hell of a lot less expensive, that is, if your an expert using the butt dyno).

I definatly agree... The first thing I bought for my car was a Wideband, simply because I'm parinoid and like to be able to see my numbers... I bought the innovate setup and love it!

UPDATE : I dont have the cash for a WB  So its over at XAT Now doing the dyno and gettign the safc tuned. Wonder what the new HP will be? I know the boost is only like .5 or .6 bar. and no new intercooler yet so anyone want to guess??

Idealsupra just installed the 550's SAFC II walbro and the lexfm. It allready has the ARP's and better gasket. (not metal tho ) I dont know why the prev owner did not do the metal gasket. Is it that much more in cost to go metal?

I will know sometime after lunch.

they will probably just straighten out the af line and call it a tune :(

Ok.. here is it.. 273.86 hp torque 264.14 They did mention the boost was low but they did not want to turn it up because I did not change the intercooler yet. The guy mentioned it will do some goon numbers after the intercooler and turning up the boost. I am not really used to the manual controller. I need to learn how to turn it up. The boost is set to .7 bar. Its tuned now so I can up it.

heres a scan of the run

lol when you up the boost you will need to retune it ;)

not bad numbers.... my car did 260rwhp and 290ft/lbs at about 9psi with just intake and exhaust...

and that makes no sense...didnt want to turn up the boost because of the IC? lmao.... the ic can support 400-450hp.... ah i love "tuner" shops lol ;)

EDIT: also what kind of graph is that lol.... no AF on the bottom no RPM on the bottom... wtf? is that all they gave you?

yup thats a scan of the page they game me. (they also game me a bill hehe) He was complaining that the AF did not print. It was on the screen but he printed 3 times and it never did. I think its because the a/f was in color on the screen and the color printer was probly out of color ink.

So can I turn up the boost a little without killing the tune?

I will get the WB soon as I can so we can tune without them....
