I bought a donor car today to get a five speed transmission to replace my auto. I just ordered a new clutch kit. Do I need a new slave cylinder? What other parts should I order now to keep from not having them when I install the 5 speed? Are their any seals that I may want to replace before I install the 5 speed? I have the swap procedure printed out already, but wanted to know what new parts to order. Thanks.

or u can just get a Rebuild kits from your local parts stores for slave and Master cylinder, Very Simple to do. and i would get a SS hydraulic line aswell. no point in using an old gross rubber one.

I'd do all the hydraulics for the clutch and maybe a stainless flex hose while doing the job!

Some good quality fluid will help as well!

Are you talking about a new slave cylinder? As usual you are talking way over my head. It's been a while since I've had a 5 speed, so I can't remember what to replace. Thanks for the help.

Thanks to SupraJustin also.............lol

Just a word of caution, don't put any extra "spacers" (those metal things that go on the flywheel kinda like a washer) or you'll end up having to pull the trans to take one off because the clutch disc will hit the bolts. It sucks having to pull an engine/drop a trans just because of some little tiny piece of crapp washer thing. I THINK the autos had one between the crank and flywheel and one between the flywheel and the bolts themselves, the 5speed just had one between the fw and the bolts. This was just the case on a mkII, it may be diff for mkIII's

Just thought I'd atleast bring it up.

Thanks for the heads up Supraman.

IJ, I like to spend money, so I'll buy a new slave cylinder and master cylinder. I've already ordered my new steel braided clutch line from HPF. I still have to order an aluminum flywheel. Aluminum FW's are supposed to be better aren't they? Isn't that what everyone is running?..............lol

Get your Slave/master cylinder on ebay.. Ebay should be your new best friend for supra parts. im not using a aluminum flywheel cuz i cannot afford it, but it is lighter.. less mass to spin get a AL DS too 1 piece

Yeah, I have rebuilt them in the past, but I just ordered a new one. I've also got my flywheel, stage two clutch kit, master cylinder, and a couple of other things ordered. Can't wait to be shifting gears and barking tires...........lol
