Ok guys so im driveing in the rain and stop at a light. So when I give the car gas...BAM like something popped. The car whanted to stall in first gear(I have an auto). From the point I left the light the car drove rough like hell! and every time I would stop and go the thing would stutter when accelerating. Was like I lost a gear or something, I wasnt getting the response I normally get.

Tranny might be going bad? Could this be a TPS thing? Im going to look at it tomorrow was to dark today, run some codes or something. Well, if you guys could give me some insight on this I would really appriciate it, heres a sum of the situation, Felt like it whanted to stall when going from stop to go, drove really rough, car was in a higher RPM like it couldnt shift, No lights came on.

Could be many things - vacuum leak, bad gasoline.. but if it WAS a turbo car, I would 99% guarantee that a pipe between your turbocharger and intake manifold came loose/popped off. That's annoying as hell, and scary when your 13psi all of a sudden pops a pipe off and sounds like a HKS SSqV.

Well, the codes tell me it is my TPS but thats old news. I thinks it's bad gas...dad put in low grade :nono:, and if the timing did jump how could I look into this, and would it be wise to look into getting a new one?

take off the front cover and check the marks on the cam gears..... they should line up with the notches cut into the back plate when the motor is at TDC. basically, there's a notch on the crank pulley, line that up with the 0 on the front cover, and see where those little marks are on the cam gears. You may have to turn it around again if you cant see the marks.

If this doesn't make sense, someone should be able to explain it better.

bad gas possibly, but low grade wouldn't cause such a problem being N/A the car should run perfectly fine on 87 unless he put something in less then 87. as for the timing jumping. you can just check the ign. timing if you have a timing light. If the belt jumps, then you ign. timing will also change, so if you know where it was at before the problem then you would know if it changed.

How does it run once you get going, like crusing at say 45mph or so?

It runs rough around that speed, I would say shakey but that cant quiet explain it. I'll check how the car is tomorrow, and if the problem persists, ill see what I can do further

Apprently the car drove fine the other day. Maybe this was related to the rain or something? or maybe it was just a timeing slip or TPS was jackin around, who knows? right? I'll check some more stuff today if I get to it, and other then checking the timeing what else could I do?
