ok i bought my car for cheap it was a still for the price. when i got the car the exaust manifold bolts where striped so it was venting at the manifold. i dont know all that the previous owner did he told me that he had boosted the motor more them 13 puonds and had hit fuel cut a few times. now i cheacked the radiator and it was full, the car didnt smoke when it was running it had a lack of power tho. i dont think the head gasket was blown .

ok right now i have spent about 2500.00 on geting my motor rebuilt i have every gasket new, water pump, oil pump, valve seals arp studs and a metal head gasket.
where my problem is at is that i want my car and im almos out of money and my botom end is stock with 115k on it. im doing a compresion test and a leak down test, if i dont see any diff in compression between the cylinder then i think that im just going to but it together and call it a day im not trying to go with more then 350 hp anyway what do you guys think i should do to prep my motor to go sidways ???

sorry for the typo's it lat and i have work in 6hours so please give me some slake
thanks supra family in advance for help

I think $2500 is a lot of money to put into a motor and not know exactly how bad the "foundation" got beat on. You could end up wishing you would have waited til you had the money to complete the job. But if all looks good, you could be OK for a while.

Jarco inc quoted me 1695 shipped to my door with a complely rebuilt engine and 2195 shipped with a MHG & ARP's. 400 back after core so 1795 give or take. You should have did some home work and pricing before settling.

i really dont even rember all that i have had aggreed to have donefor the grad total, but part of it includes buying the car, so it more like 1800 with some porting and a valve job,
-which brings me to another question how large is to lage on porting the head and is it worth porting to stock ex manifold??

-can you do a compresion test and a leak down test on a cold motor?

Also, remember using the metal head gasket you will need to lap the block. There is a certian RA you need to lap the block to, i cant remember off the top of my head but it needs to be done so the Metal gasket to seal right. Also depending on the Metal gasket you got you might need to drill out one of the rivets so that it doesnt hit the block/head.

We are in the process right know of contacing Canton Performance and seeing if they can make us a custom pan to fix that problem. Once everything is in we might do a group buy. The pan you are thinking about it the one Dr.jonez can get. Here is the link:

well it looks like im going to have to spend the money and build the bottom end. i really don't what to but i want my 7m to be able to handle 350 400.

righ now im guessing its going to cost me another 1500 for parts and labor so 3g's for the total rebuild
what stuff to i need to but or what sould i upgrade while i have the motor out
