What Radiator can i use???

Im in the proses of sourcing parts for my 1J swap, and was wondering if there was any OEM or any other radiator from another car that would work for my swap...

I know the 7M works, but im looking to score on a junckyard radiator and the supras are always gutted out here!

Get an OEM 1JZ radiator or a Koyo FOR a 1JZ. The 1JZ radiators have the correct spot for the temperature sensor, which you need, Don't cheap out on a radiator.

only need 1JZ/Koyo radiator with the temp sensor bung if yur using the hydrofan thats all that sensor is for is the hydrofan

if yur using a 2J WP assembly and clutch fan the 7M radiator is fine

What are the benefits of the 2j clutch set up over the hydrofan???

If your short on cash you can screw the 1jz temp sender into the 7m radiator drain spot. With some brackets to mount it you could run hydrofan on the 7m rad then.

I'm using 2J water pump and clutch fan with brand new OEM 7M radiator. Yeah it works great !!!! :biglaugh:

really? thats interesting i'll try that....cause right now i have no sensor. the hydro fan just just runs at full blast at all times but it still works!!!!

Bigger Radiator more coolant capacity and more cooling capability. Plus the End Tanks on the KOYO are not Plastic like the OEM Stuff. People get bigger rad Generally when they have or are going to have more HP then stock. the more HP the more heat the engine produces and needs to shed off

im pretty sure it has to be a GTE

the GTE pump fits on the 1JZ so i would imagine you have to get the GTE clutch fan too

you can get the 2JZ WP assembly for 120 at toyota and then get a used clutch fan from a MKIV guy that bought efans

I have a quick question....I have a 1jz soarer in my car with the clutch fan. I'm about to buy a radiator for mine. I'm thinking of going with a KOYO. So my question is, I can just get a 7M radiator and I won't have a temp sensor to hook up since I have a clutch fan. Thanks.

Another question: How well will the stock 7M radiator hold up with the 1jz with fmic and 3'' turbo back exhaust? I'm looking at my finances and dont know if I can afford a koyo or not yet.
