What next after BPU?

Okay here's the boat I'm in.

I have a near "bpu" Turbo that consists of a turbo back exhaust setup and an Apex'i Intake. The engine is in proper order with a new OEM head gasket, ARP bolts torqued to 72 IIRC, miscellaneous gaskets, coolant flush, oil change, etc etc. No leaks, no other issues other than a bad heater VSV.

So what do you think the next logical upgrade is? I don't want to go nuts as I plan on going 1jz next spring/summer. So, I'm thinking intercooler upgrade is out.

Would something like an Apexi NEO, a set of good gauges and a proper tune be in order?

I'd get a Boost gauge for now. oil pressure and coolant temp following. then egt and wideband, then safc or neo, then boost controller.

bpu is a pretty dumb term now. It was meant for Suprastore.com to sell package deals to people to make a certain power figure. Parts included exhaust, downpipe, intake and raised boost. Everyone else just happens to use the term now.

I hate it when I'm talking to someone I just met about their car and I ask what they have and the response I get is just stage 1 or 2 or something. I don't know what that means.

Exactly. the other day someone asked a guy I know (Del Sol turbo)
"Hey is that turbo?"
response: "Yea, stage 2"
me... "How's that explain anything...?"

Anyways, so we're thinking a set of quality gauges then is the next logical step? I think at the same time I'm going to get a set of sway bars and strut bar along with that brake package that SupraStore sells.

All you have is exhaust and intake... put a boost controller on, intercooler, ic pipes, fuel, upgrade ct, tune...
