Hey guys,
I am getting an alarm put in and at the same time I thought I would tint the windows. What % tint do you guys have and looks the best on our cars. I am just getting the hatch and corner windows done.

Thanks
Geoff

For starters What is your law requirements for your Area? otherwise your gonna be taking it off. I went with 35% all around, not to dark but enough to make it look good, plus the Pigs dont really bug me at all. I had 20% on my previous car and was getting tickets back and forth.

If you have no issues with visibility, law enforcement, etc, go 20%.

woot %20 here u go any darker and u will kill urself. u cant see through to see the side mirrors when changing lanes and ur blind spot becomes 10Xs worse.

it is my understanding that you can do whatever you want with the side glass and rear window... well, here in CT.

Or, i should say tint to whatever percentage you wanty, not do what you want. as long as you don't go darker than 50% on the driver and passenger windows you're legal.

oh, and tints suck. i want people to see me drive my sexxxi Mkiii. :D

I've got Limo tint on the rear windows (legal in CA). No tint on the front (any is illegal in CA, though low % would not likely get you pulled over). It keeps the cabin noticably cooler, especially after being parked for a while in the sun

I put 5% on the back and 20% on all others and I haven't been pulled over for tint yet. But this one time I was being pulled over for what happened to be a noise violation b/c of my exhaust and barely could see the damn police lights through the back glass even with their bright ass spotlight beaming through but they didn't mention the tint.

I am allowed any amount of tint on the rear and any other windows but the windshield and driver side glass must be completely clear with no tint. I think 10% or 20% are my two best choices. Thanks for the comments.

I just realized that there are defrost lines on the rear hatch window. What do you do about those when tinting not to screw things. Also there are electrical wires glued to the hatch. What do you do about those? I am not tinting the windows but I want a professional look that doesn't have bubbles or look like a chump did it.
