What is this thing? How does it hook up?

Ah, another one from the "what the hell is this" category..
door004ey6.jpg

There are two do-hickies at my fingertips. They were just hanging in the door panel. The DS door handle is right above my hand. When the car was at the body shop, they pulled out the door handles to paint, and put them back in. Also, while the panels were off, I stopped by and replaced the power lock button for the DS door. Now, when I try to unlock the DS door, the alarm goes off. I cannot disable it with that door either. Somehow, I'm thinking that these do-hickies are related to this issue. Anyone know what these two items are? If so, how do I hook them back up? I've left the door panel off for now, hope to get an answer this weekend!

Thanks!!

They are the switches that arm/disarm/trigger the security system. The one on the left, clips on the cylinder, and I believe the other goes in the latch assembly.

The do-hickey on the left is the "sensor" or "switch" (for lack of a better word) that snaps around the back side of the key lock assembly to disarm/arm TDS when you unlock/lock the door. I can't find a good picture of it in the TSRM or EPC off hand, if I find one, I'll post it. The other do-hickey isn't familiar to me off hand.

the one on the right bolts to the upper portion of the inner door handle assembly. If you remove the door handle it should be pretty clear where it goes. This is the switch that will activate the interior lights and key ring light when you pull the door handle.

Yes, I installed it to the back of the lock cylinder and WOOHOO, I can unlock the car without the alarm going off. Thank you!!

With the first item installed, I can see where the second one bolts in at, but not sure what angle it should be. When I pull off both door panels to do the speakers, I will check the PS.

Thanks for all your help!!
