It seems to be some kind of crush washer gasket on the exhaust manifolds where the turbos connect on a 1JZ. I spent a nice evening with my Autozone friends trying to find a match to no avail. Where the heck can I find these (and they don't come in 1JZ gasket sets. I have one and they are not included)

I just reused mine with no issues.

Could always try a exhaust shop to try and match one up.

When you went to auto parts were you looking for 1jz engine? Or were you just trying to match one?
No parts store is going to have 1jz in there directory in the us.

I'm aware
I was trying mk3's and 4', sc300's and 400's, is300s, ext.

If others have reused them then I suppose I can too. It's just one of those things that since you've got it apart you might as well change it.

Going about it all wrong. You bring the gasket in question with and you sift through everything and try and find a matching one. Cant just go by same make.

To be technical that is not the correct way of doing it either. The correct way IMO is knowing the part and buying it lol

I felt it was implied that I sifted through numerous gaskets. No gaskets that we looked through worked though. From Toyota to Ford

Actually it is. So long as it seals it will work fine. IF its slightly loose technically its not the correct gasket but that doesnt mean its not going to do the job.

To reiterate, not a single gasket we found worked. It's not that they would loosely fit. They were all the wrong size. As in too large in diameter or too small.
That's why I'm looking for a part number or supplier

Ya its not even on driftmotion.

But you could try champion or elmhurst toyota on sf or just reuse it.

Only thing is it might leak bewteen the gap. That area gets super hot. personally i would just reuse it. How long do you expect to keep the twins anyway?

Mine are good and im already collecting single parts after 2 months.

I Dont think Ive EVER replaced any of the Metal Gaskets on my 1JZ. Hell even when I went single, I re-used the twins gasket for the head. No issues here. And I take my shit apart every other day =]

Hell Ive even re-used my 1jz head gasket :naughty: Kidding

Thats 1 thing that i love about jz is basically all the gaskets are metal and pretty durable for reusing.

can you get just a roll of exaust manifold gasket material and make your own?

I doubt it. The gasket here is that ring that I'm pointing at, not a normal stencil gasket.
I'll likely just re-use based on other's opinions

A smear of High Temp Copper Silicone will help if you reuse it.

Good call. Thank you
