Did some searching, seeing a few things on sale in this forum, just curious as to what is the best way to go around tuning my Air / Fuel ratio as my car is currently running rich.

Some of the things that have popped up are, MAFTPRO, SAFCII???

Could it be the injectors gone bad causing it to chuck more in than needed??

Any and all input is appreciated.

safc II to tune or maft pro or aem ems
u can go with the the lex afm/550 inj/afpr/walbro 255 feul pump combo...
and a wideband to watch your A/F ratios

and as far as the injectors, our cars naturally run a lil rich...
or how do u know your running really rich?? Have u done ne thing to it?

haven't done anything to it, just fuel consumption and on idle at tge back gets some droplets of fuel here n there, this is after new engine was put in comp tested mhg everything, so it runs great, im just trying to see my options to tune the a/f ratio.

How much do they cost oscolivar1? a ballpark figure for that lex afm combo for example..?

name is oliver by the way..
lex u can get around here for like 100-140, replicas are like 150+, or go to a junk yard and find a lexus V8 4.0L Ls400 and get it for cheap..
afpr kit 250+?,
walbro 255 pump 100+, 550 inj (get lucas, pte, rc,) 400-500 new or get them here for like 300-400
Safc I or II is brand new for like 400+, But a lot pop up here for like 200,
wideband is 300+ depends on which brand u get. i have everything except for wideband
or u can get really cheap and go to ebay. You get what you pay for so do things wisely..

It really doesn't sound like the Lex/550 mod is what you need. You say that nothing is done to it right? If so, it shouldnt be too rich and there definately shouldnt be raw fuel. You may have a boost leak which would reduce fuel mileage. Personally I have never been a fan of the Lex/550 mod.

Now...for a list of things to buy. WIDEBAND. Start there. Search ebay for the LC-1 by Innovate. This should be something in every car. Then you know whats going on with your A/F ratio and can go from there.

If you choose to upgrade injectors, things you could buy would include a Walbro pump, SAFC II, and a fuel pressure regulator. This type of equipement will get you in the ballpark of a decent A/F ratio. When I do it, Im going to do the fuel pump, wideband and a MAFT-Pro. This will allow me to safely use the 440's to their full potential. Also you can run the MAFT in Speed density mode which allows you to remove the AFM completely. If you think this is a good plan for you, you should also remove your injectors and have them cleaned/flow tested. Its worth it just for peace of mind.

Search using all the key words I mentioned. You will find many excellent write ups that will explain everything you ever wanted to know.

I didn't mention that I have a high-flowed CT26 don't know which trim though.

When my mech did the engine swap he did check everything, so I have a spare non-high-flowed CT26 lying around and my CT26 that's highflowed was kept. I'm pretty sure its running rich, as also in own diagnostic when driving it does boost nice and hard and holds it on stock boost feels really punchy.

I'm going to look in the near future to do some fuel upgrades from what i'm reading here on this thread and these forums.

Thanks for all your input on what's needed aswell for the steps, appreciate it.

I didn't rebuild the turbo... all i know it is that it has a bigger trim 57? 60-1? don't exactly know as it's how I bought it... it has XTR badging on it.

The motor was just swapped as I had lost compression in 1 cylinder so i could have either gotten a fresh jdm engine lowkms or rebuilt the existing one which I chose the import path.

I'd have to take off the air intake / pod to measure the size of the trim but that's a little bit of work I'd rather not do atm.

Not 100% sure about the fuel system, it does have a Fuel Cut Defender on it, a HKS EVC IV boost controller, 3'' turboback.

Don't know if the Fuel Cut Defender regulates anything fuel wise for how 'much'.. and my car does pull a lot harder at stock vs a normal stock 7mgte with exhaust that a mates got (like 1.5-2car lengths rolling 2nd from 60km/h to 100km/h (64mph?)) both at stock boost and both Manual R154's (i leave my HKS EVC IV turned off). Mine's JDM, 1988 Supra 3.0 GT Limited Aero M/T.
