Hey Guys,

Im looking to rebuild my stock LSD in my 90 Supra Turbo. When driving between 80 - 120 km/h there's a definite whine when the diff has warmed up. Also if im not moving and I put it in 1st move a little then stop, then switch to reverse and move, it makes a small clunk sound.

Im going to install the Max GRIP LSD Kit as an upgrade, but what else should be done for me to get a solid rebuild without spending 400+$$ on a FULL FULL rebuild.

Thanks guys!

Also im going to bring the diff to a shop and have it done

Good luck rebuilding without spending less than 400$
If you have large noticeable backlash, your pinion crush sleeve is shot.
Which is also allowing excessive amounts of pinion shaft radial play, explains your excessive heat and bearing howl.

A solid rebuild IS a full rebuild, this isn't a job you want to have to redo in the near term.
At a minimum you will need all bearings - Bearings are ~$280
All 3 shaft seals, new pinion nut, form gasket, misc, ect...
Custom ordered carrier bearing shims from Toyota once the new bearings are installed and have calculated backlash and preload needed.
New crush sleeve which will also go bad over time, or move to the solid collar.
Add in the LSD kit you want.
Add in all the labor cost and hope they know what they are doing.

When I rebuild these for people the parts alone are more than $400.

I can't see it being done for less than $800, unless the person doing your work is a friend & labor is not included.

You could always buy yourself a huge collection of tools, a 20 ton press and do the work yourself :D
