I have been searching and I have seen some stuff for a Greddy TD06. Is that a turbo upgrade?

What are a few of the most common turbo upgrades from stock, and what other components will I have to upgrade? My dad upgraded his turbo and now he's doing fuel injectors, a regulator, and fuel pump among other things he's keeping secret :-/.

I was just looking for a simple and cost efficient way to upgrade my turbo without going overboard. Can someone please list a few turbos that i can buy (or find people selling here or on SF) and what they may cost.

Thanks, Chris.

Well if your looking for cheap, just have the CT26 (stock turbo) upgraded. You will need a fuel pump to replace the old unreliable one and 550's depending on boost level you want. An FPR is not necessary but if you go with 550's you have to have some way to control the fuel. For example SAFCII or greddy eman. You will also need MAFT pro or lexus afm to get rid of fuel cut.

Do some searches and you can find detailed info about all that stuff.

For bolt on turbos:
1. SP61GT, also comes in 58 trim and a few other. Sound performance has a bunch of options depending how you want it done. Cost 1200-2300+
2. BOSS series turbo: available through SS. again a bunch of different options ranging from base 1195 to 2500+

Pros: These options give you a brand new turbo able to last a while and having personally dealt with SP a few times willing to stand behind their work. more power over all, newer technology, better quality of materials.

Cons: Higher cost than upgrading the stocker.

Upgrade to stocker
1. 60-1 trim: any turbo rebuilder should be able to do it and i have seen prices range from 400-900 for a rebuild and upgrade.
2. 57 trim: smaller than the 60 but offers better spool

pros: cheaper than buying a new turbo!

cons: less life traditionally than a newer beefier turbo setup. cost can outweigh beneifts if problems are found with your core (cracks in the wg housing) older tech vs newer designs.

i actually have the sp61gt and i love it. great spool and i plan on hitting 400rwhp on pump with this turbo on pump gas. it really is a great turbo and do recommend it to anyone who is looking to get a nice bolt on turbo besides the ct26
