Building my fuel system for e85 capability, not gonna run it right away just dont wanna buy things twice. What hose can i use that is e85 compatible. I got the Russel Powerflex hose from summit cuz it said alcohol compatible but unfortunately they didnt say you cant use regular hose ends on it... so now i have 15' of useless expensive power steering line.
So what hose CAN i use? Don't post unless you know for sure 100% the hose will not deteriorate over time.

I got all my stuff from anfittingsdirect.com

I used all the PTFE line and used their PTFE AN compression fittings

Are you guys running the braided hose all the way from the tank? Or do you have some hardline running along the frame rails?

Me myself, am running 2 stock hardlines, 2 stock fuel filters, then some -6 pushloc hose for the rest. I also ties the evap vent line and stock retur lines together for the return side. Works pretty well so far!

I wanted to put in hardlines there also. Is aluminum ok?

Does the line from anfittingsdirect, feel like hard plastic?

That's my dilemma, aluminum is the easiest to work with and most readily available for the size I need (at least -8AN or 1/2"+) but I can't find anodized line anywhere. I've done research and I can't find any evidence of people actually having issues with un-anodized lines and E85, but I'd rather be safe than sorry if possible.

Aluminum is OK to use with E-85. Its when you start doing things like E-98 and Methanol that you need to start taking extra precautions with the materials you use.

You still want to get an alcohol-compatible material with E-85 but that mainly pertains to the rubber hoses.

That line from summit is rubber based, I was under the impression that only teflon was 100% e-85 compatible and that the rubber based hose would work but isn't a permanent solution.

The description says it's compatible with alcohol. I would assume it would work for E85 as well since it's mostly ethanol (ethyl alcohol)?

Theres so much misinformation out there im not sure who to listen to. Some sites say that only ptfe line is fully compatible with e85 and that all rubber based lines will break down. Others say that the rubber lines manufactured today can withstand the e85. Who's right?

Rubber lines are used in a lot of cars today. If you look at the side of the hose, there is a rating which you can Google and see what it is compatible with. Those documents are available online from the manufacture.
