ok so im switching systems, currently i have map ECU and HKS EVC IV, my power goals are 700hp and i am still lacking of timing control, so my plans are sell off what i got and buy a new EMS, so for about 950$ i was looking around at different EMS's and am still very lost at where to go, i'd like to use stock components without many additions "like motec" i'd like a stand alone but i dont have that money. i want somthing that will control boost, fuel, and timing and be reliable and not to hard to get set up. somthing easy to work with. so my tuning gods tell me what you think i should go with

doing some reading i find that the stinger ecu seems to be quite nice, only thing its really missing is traction control and launch control. and for a price of 900$ through drift motion it seems to be perfect for me, who is using this on a 7mgte, do you like it?

im still looking, no idea anymore, i thought stinger could do boost control. so basically im looking for a system near the 900$ range if it can do boost control, but if it cant then im looking near the price range of 400-500. i've looked at different systems and really dont know what im doing anymore, these are what i've looked at, but i dont think any of them can do boost control but indeed work with a seperate boost control

maft-pro "dont trust myself modding it"
stinger "too much no boost control"
greddy e-manage ultimate "looks like a great system, no boost control"
map ecu 2 "great, great, great but kinda out of my price range, no boost control"

keep in mind that my power goals are 700hp and timing and fuel is a big thing, i currently have a boost controller, but if i need to keep it then i cant sell it :) hence the two price ranges, thanks for any opinions

The stinger is $900 plus $200 for the wire harness;-)

You are shooting for too high of hp with too small of a budget! Traction control that adjusts boost isn't worth the time!

Sorry bro but there isn't much out there that we trust for those high numbers becides the well known aem,stinger,motec,etc...all of which are out of your budget. Also, maft pro is a piggyback and it does control timing but not enough for 700hp...that's asking for problems!

There is megasquirt but requires serious modding and also a trigger wheel for ignition timing.

so now we are tuning boost through traction, nice :)

How do you think the traction control works???!! It lowers boost...
It's a waist of time...the traction control systems in these products is very primitive!

ohhhh well you should have said that then lol, ok lets say i lowered my standards of power, what could i do with say 400-500 hp maybe 600

Good friend of mine had a mapecu (v 1.0) on his MkIV (T78), he ran it to 436rwkw, but now he is shooting higher, he has decided to go with an autronic.

Hell safc will get you 400 hp! 4-450hp is the breaking point where people start blowing motors cause of shit fuel control and timing....but it's a huge price jump from 400 to 600 generally...the ecu's trusted with those #'s don't come cheap
