K so here's the scoop :]

Oil in the coolant overflow bottle, but no coolant in the oil. Cracked block? bhg?

My temp gauge has been being awkward, it's fine at idle ussually, but once in awhile it'll drop to bottom.... also driving sometimes it'll drop to the bottom, and then later under the same rpms it'll go back to midline. Once in awhile it'll spike up to just before the red...but it goes back down within maybe 5-10 seconds. Also leads me to believe bhg

Also over the past few months of driving, it managed to run the coolant low aswell. For awhile now the coolant light has come on @ startup, and go out within 3 or 4 minutes...even though the overflow has had coolant in it.

The infamous gurgling sound of air in my cooling system, but it's only for maybe a minute or 2 after startup, then no more.

When I start the car, a bita white smoke, but none during normal operation. Valve seals?

I havent driven the car very hard for quite some time, but I remember awhile back when I did the overflow bottle did just that, it overflowed :)

MMmyay.

The car doesnt seem to have lost any power or anything tho, so Im somewhat confused. But lotsa signs of a BHG. Possibly a minor one? At anyrate, there's some issue with the cooling system. The only shop I've brought it to knows nothing of performance cars, and just hmmd and hahhd.. so I figured I'd ask you guys for the headsup before I bring it to another one so I can tell them what to do.

Should I take the car in and have it tested? Maybe retorque the headbolts myself?

I'm not sure if the HG has been replaced or not, in all the cars paperwork there is a 70 dollar charge slip for a HG, but no labor, no machine work papers, nothing of that sort...So In a way i doubt it has.

Welp, thanks for your assistance supraguys and gals :)

I got an idea!!! Buy a tester which is about 40 CAD dollars (almost the same as US funds for you smart asses) and be done with your guessing ;)

PS: It does sound like it, but testing is the best way and it will tell you within 10mins. You can buy them from NAPA.

Mmmkay, will do.
Thanks for the advice :)

Yeah I'm real excited about this so called "rite of passage"...NT.

But probably better to be not crabby about it and just deal with it. And once it's all said and done, I'll know theres a mhg and I'll feel alot better about the car.
