What does the blue wire coming off of the thermostat housing do?

Well, i just posted another thread talking about my cooling system troubles. I had just replaced my thermostat and in the process i accidently broke off the connection where the blue wire goes into. I cannot get it back in. Anyone know what it does exactly and how hard it is to get the piece(s) and replace it?

Ill bet if Toyota tried really hard they could probably fit 2-3 more temp sensors on that thermostat housing. LOL
and put them in the perfect spot to have the power steering belt break and rip all the sensors off/apart :biglaugh: just like they managed to do already..

Hmmm...you should be getting a MIL code. With the coolant temp sensor disconnected (the two wire green one) the ecu is is operating at a fixed temp input. Not good. It's why I was asking the other poster what he soldered together. It'd be odd for someone to put so much work into a car and leave the EFI system running in a fixed temp mode.

That's what I was wondering...
Did he really do that? lol.. I sincerely hope not.
