Search the local vendor's online stores for Wideband O2 kits.

Hmm Local Vendors. The only local vendors around here are Tennessee Speed Sport... I dought they would have one.

Still my questions; Would I need another device, such as a air/fuel controler?.. or would the wideband work with the ECU? (seems unlikely)

The only real mods im worried about(at this point) is my 2mm MLS-HG and over boost. I would really like to *KNOW* if I am running lean or rich and have always thought those "light-show" a/f meters were only.... well, a light show.

Horsepowerfreaks sells them, MVP sells them, Titan sells them, 935motorsports sells them... Lots of companies sell widebands...

A wideband doesnt work with your ecu, a wideband works like an oxygen sensor, it reads the a/f ratio in your exhaust and gives you a read out... They sell A/F guages, however, that's what's considered a shortband, and its practically worthless... Its great for dancing lights, but not for a true reading...

The air fuel controller, like an SAFC, has nothing to do with a wideband...

hth...

Thanks Jake, That really helps alot! I suppose the wide band kit will explain more... The thing I'm still tryin to wrap my brain around is: How can the wideband do anything if it is not hooked to the computer or a readout?? And if its just a readout- how is it tuned without a piggy-back or stand-alone?

Idealsupra was doing a group buy on AEM widebands. I think he only had like 12 units though, might want to check it out in the GB section.

It's just a meter to tell you how lean or rich you are. You need to adjust your fuel with other devices, stand alone, afc, emanage, etc so that you will not be too lean or too rich.

Or narrowband.... :poon:

Yea, sorry SimpleIcon, by "Local Vendors" I meant local to the board... I should have been more clear. Any of the vendors that Reign Maker mentioned is a good place to check.
Also, as mentioned, a wideband o2 simply monitors air/fuel ratio, and does not, in any way, work in conjunction with your ECU. Just have a bung welded in your downpipe before any cat's and watch how pig rich you run!
Good luck!

SimpleIcon: if you read this, you're gonna just have to install it and monitor it. there's no way for us to tell you anything about your engine. just do it and find out for yourself. then if it's too far out for your liking, you're gonna have to buy an safc and tune it to where it's more optimal.

on the wideband monitoring setup.how quick are they to detect? like isit instantaneous or a slight delay? Im assuming you screw it into the dump pipe (wideband 02 sensor)
