I took my car for a road trip of about 5 hours. I pulled over and popped the hood and noticed that the intake had fell off completely and was running with out one. I noticed my car begin to not boost like it should so i pulled over and seen this. I put it back on pulled the efi fuse and let it reset then i started it back up went for a spin and the car will only boost to 4psi in every gear now instead of the regular 7-8psi. I ran the codes and got a 41 and a 42. Now why is my car boostin so low? sldo im going to go reset the ecu now and see what happens and see if the codes still come up although I dont know what they have to to with the boosting.

Try pulling the negative cable off the battery for a few seconds, to re-set the ecu. By driving without the intake, the engine was pulling in un-metered air, which messed up the air-fuel ratio. I could be way off, this is just a guess.

i found a vac leak on the hose connecting to the carbon canister that comes from the backside of the motor and im hoping that this leak is where im leaking boost ill fix it tomarrow and find out.

That charcoal canister has nothing to do with boost leaks. You got leaks elsewhere.

Whoa guys....
Hang on a sec....

by "intake" do you mean just the filter, or the intake piping?
When I hear intake, I figure you have a cone filter that fell off... happened to me.... well, kinda. shitty filter fell apart.

he already said he reset the ecu by pulling the EFI fuse.
By driving without the intake, the engine was pulling in un-metered air, which messed up the air-fuel ratio.
No filter = AF mixture change? Care to explain that one?

Not to be blunt, but it's best not to post if it's a guess.

While he may have leaks elsewhere, I wouldn't rule out the vac leak on the CC line... After all, vacuum goes positive on boost. Therefore, it is a boost leak (however minute) it must be taken care of.

if your intake fell off the clamps must not be tight enough...thats probobly your boost leak there
WTF? Again with the filter... Also, I don't see how he can have a boost leak pre-turbo...

Now lets try to help.

41 Throttle Position Sensor Signal
Open or short circuit in throttle position sensor signal.
Trouble Area :
-Throttle position sensor circuit
-Throttle position sensor
-ECU

42 Vehicle Speed Sensor Signal
Diagnosis
No "SPD" signal to ECU for 8 seconds when engine speed is between 2,500RPM and 4,500RPM (7M-GE) or 4,000RPM (7M-GTE) and coolant temp is below 80°C(176°F) and neutral start switch is off.
Trouble Area
-Vehicle speed sensor circuit
-Vehicle speed sensor
-ECU

Both point to the ECU, but I at one time had 3 codes all saying my ECU was bad and it wasn't.

I would test your IC pipes looking for leaks, tightening all clamps, making sure all hoses are in good order.
Check your turbo for shaft play.
Make sure you didn't suck anything into the turbo without the filter on there.
If all else fails, pull the EFI fuse or neg. terminal overnight to see if it just didnt' take the reset the first time.

HTH. Let us know what you find

true, but you can have a leak post afm from unmetered air getting in

lol....
That's certainly not a boost leak. Boost = Positive manifold pressure.

What he has, if it is post AFM, is an unmetered air leak. Cracked accordian I'd suspect, but from what I gathered, his filter fell off, so we shall see.

He said his intake fell off, not his filter. I was going on the info he provided, I know that the filter coming off would not affect the af mixture...
