I finaly stripped down the entire engine bay, now I'm not sure what color I want to paint it. I was just going to use a black spray paint, but since I prepped it as much as i did, I figure why do it good, when I can do it great. My only problem is that I can't find a dark blue to match my car. I do have access to a air compressor, I just don't know if i want to buy the are brush and the facory color paint, if the black will look good. And I think that the black will match it well. Just looking for opionions, or if you have painted your bay, what color and what color was the car? Pics are always welcome as well.

thanks

Paint it the color of your car, you dont have a domestic.

agreed, chasis black only belongs on old american iron, it looks like ass on any unibody car

you can often order any pain code and have it put into a spray can. that or but a gun and some paint and do it yourself. make sure you sand down areas that had oil saturation and staining pretty well or the paint might not stay. if you're going for the show car look do the engine bay the same as you'd do the exterior.

You see why this is such a tough choice now. Do you have any pics of Boostaddctn's car? I figue since my car almost looks black at night and that the engine bay is so crowded as it is, black won't be that bad. And I really dont' like the color in the bay. what to do what to do....

Yes I have seen it.. He' lives like 20 min from me... it looks ok, but it is really hard to work on a black engine bay, since all the light gets absorbed... I'll take my white bay ANYDAY!

I would go back with the factory stock color trust me in the end it will be worth it because when you paint a different color other then the stock factory color it depletes the value of your car. I was told this bye a professional body and paint specialist with over 20+ years experience.

Depends on the colour of the car.

I know a guy with a Silvia convertable that is red with a black engine bay, it looks really, really good. I'd take it that way over a red engine bay any day....

I'll see if I can find pics.

If anything though, either black or vehicle colour.

Here's a pic of the car, it doesn't really do it any justice at all, and it has no fenders on it, lol. He painted it himself, as well as the entire car. (He's a painter, and he has his own booth. :))
