Well My favorite color is black cherry metallic. But midnight blue would be a good color on the supra, or maybe brandi wine metallic. I guess what I'm looking for is some input of what colors look good on the supras. And is there a brand of paint that would be best to use. I'm going to be painting it on the 28th of this month, I finally peiced together a full set of the new style of moldings. Should I paint them the same as the car or a differant color? I want it to look good lol. thanks for any input.

i would be a fan of midnight blue for sure, but again its ur car. idk how much paint experience you have but painting metalics is actually pretty hard to get it to spread rite. just something to think about. and use ppg paint. its pretty expensive but sprays really nice and looks amazing!

I'm not painting it myself, I learned alot of fiberglass and body work from my grandpa, but not painting I was too young he said lol. As for it being my choice on the paint job, I know that but, I thought maybe other peoples input on colors would be a good idea, being as I don't know the first thing about painting a car and am not going to attemp it. I just thought there was some people on here that had more ideas on what colors are out there and which type of paint job would be best etc... I'm a compulsive person and don't want to jump into the first color I think of, if you can relate to that. I have heard of ppg paint is that base coat clear or what? I don't know much on what types of paint there are, I geuss the main thing is I want to be better edjucated on it when I goto the body shop to get it done. And so I know whats best for me and my car as well. What prices I can expect them to say, roughlly speaking. I just don't want to get railroaded and I'm not taking to maaco to get it done unless they are good to take it to.

Yeah I got a whole set of them from a local supra owner. He is selling me the moldings tail light lenses and plate deal for 80 bucks and a dash with no cracks for 100 and the 89+ climate control deal he is just throwing in and some misc. parts as well.

Looking back, I would have painted mine the black cherry color I was looking at, but it looked too much like stock maroon color to me. However, would have saved the trouble of painting the jambs or under the hood too...

I went with a Dupont (I think) color called Black Sapphire Metallic. It's blue in bright sunlight, with a bit of red/purple showing through, mostly purple in dull light, and pretty much black at night or in really low light... Cool paint, and it does look good on the car.

It's your car though man, just learn to live and love whatever you decide on! :)

Here's my take on the situation: If your favorite color is black then shouldn't that be the color you should paint it? Your only gonna kick your self in the but after it's painted blue. Don't get me wrong, I like midnight blue. Blacks is very hard to keep clean. Ask me how I know.

Yeah I've owned a black car a couple of times. I talked to a guy the other day who is just starting a body shop and he said its alot easier to paint it the origanal color. Then you don't have to worry about door jams and engine bay yada. Seems like the chepiest way to go but I'm not sure if I want to go that route yet. Anybody got a driver side front fender pm me if you do.

Personally I'm a huge fan of Super White, Dark gunmetal grays, and different variations of black.

What's your car's stock color?

My brother has this really sick white that he painted his, it was a white gold originally a colour for and '06 Cadillac so GM should have it. If you like white this is pure sex, it's nice perfect white and in the sun has a nice gold metallic to it at the right angle but still white looking, very cool. Wish I had a picture for you guys
