So I bought some MK4 N/A wheels and now I have the sawblades just sitting around. I pulled the tires off of them and removed the valve stems. They're pretty much ready for paint. I really don't want to do white. Only becasue I don't have the white body moldings to pull off the white package.

The question is now... what color should I paint them?

I was thinking gunmetal.

Any suggestions?

hard decision because doing the black i would exspect to never clean the wheels again. But the gunmetal is easy to clean also depends which is more of your taste.

graphite, when i had my car white i did my sawblades graphite. Theres a nice spraycan kit i used that worked well. I have them on my black car now and they still look nice. Lemme see if i can dig up pics of them painted graphite with my white car. probably dont have any anymore, my laptop toasted itself with all my pics on it. I do have pics of them graphite on my black car if you want to see that. What i did was get a angle grinder sand kit and went to town on those ribs that are in the sawblades, then got a fine disk to almost polish. Then i got some self etching primer and did 5 coats then wetsand. Then like 5-6 coats of color, 3 light 2-3 medium coats 10 mins apart, then like 7 coats of clear. They came out REALLY nice.

Most saws look fairly good just striped, just polish it for higher gloss and protection. Most just paint the center cap black or that fake chrome stuff.

Yeah gun metal sounds very good, maybe black. Dark colours hide the shape of the objects better. You know, with sawblades, its nothing to be proud of. So the the more monolithic it looks the better.

Damn I should have made a poll. I don't want to make another thread.

Wow I'm loving the pic of the gunmetal sawblades. I'm going to pick up with supplies today.

What grit sand paper would you recommend?
