What cluster do I want?

Hello folks.

I have an '88 and I want a newer cluster, since mine looks old for my taste. The newer styled ones look much better.

Now, my car is a non-turbo, so I'd want a non-turbo cluster. Even if I do change to turbo engine later on, I'll put the boost gauge in the left pillar, so I kinda want the voltage in the cluster. :) Also, my car does NOT have tems, and, obviously, doesn't have airbags. Now, did airbags had a sign in the 90+ clusters? If they did, then the way I see it, the ONLY cluster that could work for me is that of an 89 non-turbo non-tems, right? If the airbags had no cluster lights, then I could also use a 90-92 one.. that's what I'm asking here. Ayone?

Thanks in advance! =)

UMMMM...I think they're all interchangeable...you just might have to swap out the boost gauge and so on and so forth. Why not just get one of those "indiglo" white face things from ebay? just an idea

89 has 6500rpm redline, 90-92 has 6250rpm redline. Get the 89.

Yes, the cars with airbags had a light on the speedometer.

The tach is different between the N/A and Turbo, so that's another reason to get the N/A cluster, aside from the voltmeter.

All MK3 (All Toyota mechanical for that matter) speedometers are the same calibration. It will work fine.

Europe had different lights on their speedomer than we did.

We had:

E-BRAKE
AIRBAG (90+ USA, 92 Canada)
SEATBELT

They had:

E-BRAKE
REAR FOG LAMP (Everywhere in Europe except Switzerland)
HAZARDS

I have a Swiss speedometer because I wanted the one without the rear fog lamp indicator. The hazards one on mine still lights up like the seatbelt light, I doubt I'll change it, but we'll see.

My cluster doesn't have TEMS on it, but that's because I removed it from the cluster, it had TEMS on it when I bought it.

Rear fog lights? What on earth is that? Can one just turn it off forever and forget about it? :) I wouldn't mind doing that just to get the KM/H only speedo.

All European cars have a rear fog light.... It's that gay ass red light you notice on Audis, and Volvos that is brighter than the rest of the lights in the rear of the car. It's there so that they don't get rear ended.
All cars in Europe have to have that light for safety.
The light on the dash only comes on when the fog light is turned on.
