I have a 91 supra and a 7mge non turbo engine with 158k miles. What can I do with 2000 for hp gains? I wanted to get a turbo but I don't think I'd have enough money for it along with rebuilding the engine to withstand it

You should probably just keep saving up.

For $2k, you'd be best off buying a $500-$750 7MGTE Supra (entire car) and fixing that up with the other $1000-1200.

Sell your car and let the fun begin :D

save that 2k then sell your N/A supra for about 1500-2000 if in good condition now you have about 3000-4000 to buy yourself a decent 7mgte supra or maybe even a 1jz supra ;)

Is my car really that bad? Problem is I haven't seen a single other mk3 supra in my entire city, so that chances of me finding another one to buy let alone a 7mgte is like none...
So just save it? You wouldn't reccomend buying a 7mgte engine? I seen some for $1300

A used 7mgte always needs work! Your most likely going to spend $2k just bullet proofing it not to mention a power increase. And upgrading a 7mge is pointless unless you want to go nowhere fast. Your 91 warrants a 1jz and I think that's what you should shoot for but you'll most likely need another $1k to complete that swap. Start saving more money is my advise to you and good luck with whatever you choose sir.

Just save your bacon for a good breakfast. You know. Different engine like a gte or jz series would be nice. Get 3 g and go from there

I've been thinking of 1jz but the problem is I'm not well versed as a mechanic its my brother that knows about engines and I hear 1jz parts are hard to come buy so the 7mgte is better with a t4 turbo? So that'll be like 3.5k altogether?

7mgte would be kick ass. You gotta work past the very few problems with it. It's a very easy engine to work with. A thought would be do your homework on the gte engine. Been covered millions of times here.. It sounds like that would be your best bet. But that's me. Read our tech sub forum on 7ms. Strong as hell. Just gotta treat it right

Cheap turbo car is gonna be beat the fuck out of.

Save up for a swap (or start buying parts and stockpiling) if your car is in good shape. As you have a 91, more than likely it will be in better shape...

Yea my engine is running great I had some radiator issues but I just put in antifreeze and hasn't overheating or nothing never failed to turn on. Interior is a bit dirty but Im gonna do a paint job and its gonna need a good engine to go with the rest of the car

If you really like your Supra, save more money and build a driveline. Learn everything you can about GTE's (or whatever you prefer) and drive your n/a till it's ready. That way there's no hurry, and you have time to find a few more $$, and study all the rebuild tips around here. Then you can do the big swap. (I never saw your '91, that's if it's good to start with). Or alternatively, it's hookers and blow. gl.
