Hi everyone,

I have a '88 Supra Turbo (it was a NA, but I swapped the GE for a GTE) and I want to replace the rod bearings, because they begin to knock (they knock a little bit)

How do I know what numbers of rod-bearings I need?
There about a thousand numbers on the crankshaft and conrods...

Thanks

Regards,
Stefan

If you read the TSRM, it will tell you to match up the numbers from the crankshaft and the rods for the corresponding rod bearings. There's a chart that you need to follow exactly, and based on the # stamped on the crankshaft and the rods you order the bearings.

Or if you don't mix up your bearings and the numbers are readable you can do that too. The numbers on the bearings are not stamped on although there is a number stamped on them that's not what you need and is of no use to you.The numbers (1,2,3,4,5) were printed with ink or something and hard to read after they get worn, but you still may be able to read them, I was able to read about 1/2 of mine in a JDM engine with 50k on it. I'd still double check the numbers are correct against the TSRM chart and your crankshaft/rod combo for each bearing. Good luck.
