What air/coolant lines connect to the Idle Air Control Valve?

I installed my Idle air control valve, but have no idea what tubes connect to it. I know the large hose connection in the center of the IACV goes over the engine and connects to the intake piping, but what about the smaller fittings that run straight through it?
Are those stupid coolant lines again? like what they did with routing coolant through the throttle body? If so thats pretty useless and unnecessary....but hey, they did weird stuff before the 90's lol.

Why is it unnecessary? Venturi effect doesn't apply where you live?

Not quite so weird as the heated throttle body assures that all of the intake temps are close to the same among other things.
