what activates the fuel pump? its not just the car being in the on position is it? if it is i guess thats another problem i have to fix cause im reading no pressure

i'm gonna take a stab at this. on P.57 of the efi section of the tsrm(bible) theres a nifty diagram of the fuel pump and related parts. judging from this diagram it looks like the ecu controlls it. when you turn the key to on you dont hear the fuel pump turn on. but when say your starter is unplugged and you turn the key to start the pump turns on. i think thats cuz the ecu sees that you are trying to start the engine and not just roll up your windows. maybe?? someone correct me if i'm wrong.
Yes, fuel pump is under ecu control thru a series of relays. The mk3 system doesn't provide a "prime shot" like alot of other cars do.
