Every month I buy a litany of "performance import car magazines" and every month something is suspiciously missing...Supra Mkiii's! W.T.F? There is a ton of Mkiii's still on the road so I don't buy the arguement that "nobody is interested 'cause there aren't enough of them". If that were the case then why do I constantly see articles in these same magazines featuring Skylines etc. and lots of cars that one would generally have to go to Japan to see?
Is it because there old? Well that's a lousy arguement too 'cause I always see features on old CRX's, 240 SX's, Accords and the like.

Most of the cars featured are ricy looking 4cyl pieces of shit anyway. How hard could it be to include a Mkiii once and awhile. The only time I've ever see mention of a Mkiii was in the letters to the editor section of one of these rice car magazines and they were from a couple of supramania members chewing the magazine out for telling some reader of their magazine that a Supra Mkiii was a lousy car to buy because there is nothing in the way of speed parts available for it and the guy should buy a Honda. Huh?

Fu#k that! Thats all I ever see on the road and in the magazines! These guys are all in love with Honda's and that's basically all that ever gets covered!

I HATE HONDAS!!! THEY'RE BORING PIECES OF SHIT. WHO F'N CARES!

Anyway, I digress. I would like to know what you guys think. I'm not buying anymore of these so called "import performance car" rags. How 'bout you?

I actually like the fact that the mk3 doesnt get much attn from the mags because if it did then more ricers would try to get their hands on one, like they do with the honda's and make the mk3 ricerific but thats just imo oh yeah look in the oct issue of D-Sport there are 2 mk3's in it but no info on them there is a white one in a shop and then one thats drag racing
EDIT:by what i said i dont meant that all people that drive hondas are "rice"

its a bitter sweet thing to me, I mean on one hand, the less people know about our supras, the more we can find for our automotive needs, and then on the other hand, less coverage means less companies willing to generate any type of product for our vehicles etc etc, anyhow I never really buy those magazines anyway, their all biased even if they dont say so, whether it be hondas or 240s or whatever, there always gonna side with the most popular vehicle, bastards, anyway thats my .02 cents.

Edit: Oh yea I dont really have a problem with the hondas or 240s, just that some people who drive them piss me off

Well... I drive a Honda :3d_frown: . I just became a Supra owner about a month ago. And so far I love it. My Honda is just my daily driver, but also besides those ricers out there who put and exhaust and intake and some 18 inch rims on there car and think they are fast, there are also Honda owners who do things right!! As with any other car platform ya know. But I do agree with you. I am subscribed to about three Import Mags. and on a consistant basis I only either see Evo 8's or some other car I cant afford, or a Honda :icon_evil . Either its tech talk, upgrading or whatever. I think if they are trying to sell there mag. they would do articles about cars there readers drive. And I am sure not all there readers drive 30,000$ car's and Honda's. Expand Your Horizon!!!!! But also, with the more articles in the mags, the more fuckheads out there draging our good, fun loving, pure joy of are beloved car through the mud :3d_frown: . But either way we dont need help or info from the magazine's. We have great site's like these to point us in the right direction! Thank you all, and God Bless!! :biglaugh:

There was a Super Street last spring(don't remember exactly which month) that had a White 89 from Canada.

I don't care if something is in a magazine or not. They're just trying to sell their magazines. The MK3 has been out for a while and isn't 'new and shiny' anymore.
Not to mention we have a good assortment of parts available without all the nasty attention.
Trying to get parts for my 95 Celica was like pulling teeth. It was either cheaply made or had to come from Japan.

Ive got every S/S mag going back to July 2001, and I've seen ONE MKIII in there and that was a reader's ride... I'll have to look for the white one yur talkin about Aaron...

I would like to see more MKIIIs get the recognition and respect they deserve, but... Then again, I like people wondering what my car really CAN do...

Cant forget Mike Urbinos supra that was SS I think. Yeah our cars may not be in tons of mags but

I thinks its better that way before drifting came to the states the 240 was the same way.

Could you imagine if that happen with the MkIII the jdm supply of the 7ms would die cause people would be blowing there motor cause most people dont no how too take care of it.

And there would be MKIIIs every where with Ebay kits It would be bad but im suprised it hasnt happen already it has the name SUPRA. every ricers wet dream after FNF

Like I said, can't remember which issue(I gave all my old car mags to a friends son or I'd look it up). I know it was last year or earlier.

meh, the average supra owner does not flip through magazines looking for parts to buy or mods to install. the average honda owner is a different story. to me, aftermarket + honda is pure marketing ballwash for kids with more money than hp. the trick is to find the right magazines

Figgie has been in a car mag before. Not his car, but he wrote in to correct them. :D

If you want your car to be in a mag so badly, you need to have something as beautiful as Mike Urbano's car - God rest his soul.

bingo! the people that read the magazine and look at the parts and buy the parts are the people they try to market towards, so why would they put a mark3 supra in the middle of 5 pages of honda and nissan parts when you could put a honda or a nissan there. there are exceptions as i have seen several mk3 supras in mags, but who really cares, thats what SF and SM are for to look at all the nice mk3 supras, and get great tech help and just about anything else you can think of. not to mention the mk3 is the supra bastard child, because if it's not the mighty MKIV it's not shit.

hondas CAN be some kick-ass machines, it just depends on who builds them, someon I work with has an EF hatch, and he's gone and turbocharged it, and put one of those awd conversion kits, and coilovers, plus the standard mods, and he rallys the thing. hes damn good, beat my friends wrx in both snow AND gravel races, I couldnt even compete with him, hes the person that convinced me to buy a second mk3 someday, convert it to awd, and rally it.

HUH????????????

SEEMS LIKE SOME PEOPLE ARE A LITTLE OVERSENSITIVE.
(I've heard that's what happens when you can't get laid)

Maybe I'm shallow and narrow minded and my pussy hurts but I'd just like to keep the interest alive in these cars (and the aftermarket manufacturers interest as well).

I'd like to see more aftermarket parts for the venerable Mkiii. The car deserves it! And keeping the car in the publics eye is the best way to do it. I also like seeing what other people are doing with their cars.

If you knew a magazine was going to be on the news stand tomorrow that featured a bunch of nice Mkiii's everyone of you "who needs it" guys would get it the second it came out...and you know it, so save the bullshit for the chicks and the I.R.S. I don't buy it.

Ok i see the mag bs all day long while im at school kids see the cars in the mag and want every thing a certain car has or want their car to look like it i get shit all the time about my car not having a kit and not having a fartcan(hks turbo muffler) and they say my car must be stock beacuse i dont have a bodykit and a exhaust id rather not have the mk3 in the mags because of this reason like i said in my first post
