Hi guys! I hear of different people running different brand injectors. With all the choices out there, what are y'all running and had the best luck with? I know to stay away from Venoms! :icon_bigg

Secondly, is it a good idea to run 550's from older cars. Like Mazda's 550 version(s). What older injectors work with our cars and are there any compatibility or known issues doing that?

Thanks for your thoughts...

Well

most import cars from Japan run Denso. So those RX-7 injectors are denso.

Imports from Europe run Bosch.
Delphi/Lucas/Rochester are in most american cars.

After that, the RC and PTE are rebadged of the ones I just mentioned just that they are flow tested (some companies might, some other might not). ;)

Really? I bought a (used) set of the PTEs, and I thought that they were 550s. They seem to match well with my Lexus AFM (Which I don't have the long adjuster screw for) so maybe...

and that is the other issue with injectors

are they 550 or 580? Or are they the same?

A lot of companies put the flow at 550cc/min as that is using the 80% duty cycle. Most of the time when you see 580cc/min means they were measured at static open (100% duty cycle) which is never a good situation to be in.

The buyer must read how the company (I know RC uses 80% duty cycle) measures thier injectors. Either 75%, 80% or 100% DC.

I went with the 550's off the early rx-7 turbo. You know, the low impedence secondaries. I have had nothing but good things from them. I flow tested them before I placed them on the car and since then I never had a problem. I recommend those. But good luck finding a set without paying a lot.

Those are Denso 550. Almost the same like the Bosch 550's. Both are pricey!

Search on here about all of the problems everyone has had with them and how many engines have laid down due to them, then you'll understand ;).

Just curious here, do you know your A/F's?

Same ones I am planning on running. Mine are at RC getting cleaned and flow-tested.
