The trans died completly today on my lunch break... I have been starting in second, because first is not working. I get my lunch in the drive through, go to put it in second....

There is no resistance at all, no gear, no nothing. First is the same way. Third, Fourth, Fifth, Reverse.... They all feel like you are trying to shift into a brick. There is no shift pattern. There are no spots for every gear 3rd and over....and the first and second spots have nothing in them. No grinding noise, no nothing.

Had to push the supra, uphill for about 50 feet and get it in a parking spot. That wasn't fun. Now I just have to wait on my new trans to get here....and put it in.

i went through the same thing.... blew first synchro. change fluids then work for 2days. after that first and second gear synchros went and it was too much to start off of third even though it can be possibly done. just buy a use r 154 from someone. i paid $250 for mine and it was rebuild.

Well, I couldn't park it.... my wife had to have the titan, and the all trac still needs a clutch, tag, insurance, and inspection. The corolla isn't titled yet, doesn't have a tag inspection sticker or insurance

sounds similar to the first r154 i toasted. i blew the 2nd gear synchro, so had to go from 1st to 3rd which wasnt horrible just to get around but no racing for sure. then finaly 1st went in largo at my gf's house and i had to drive back to tampa in traffic which is about an hour or more in traffic starting in third wit ha 4 puck sprung clutch. not fun. when i pulled the rans to change it i checked the disc just for the hell of it and it was almost done even though it had only maybe 10k on it. then the trans i put in started poping out of 1st after a week so i just dropped it and went to a low mileage w58 from a girl car i had lying around, filled it with amsoil, and stopped driving it hard like i like to do and its holding ok though the clutch started slipping a few weeks later, so i had a centerforce pp laying around and a 6 puck sprung disc so i swapped them in and it holds great, the pp has much more clamping force then the stocker. nd the good thing is its only $40 to have the 4 puck disc rebuilt at the local clutch shop. so got new ceramic pucks on that for when the 6 puck wears out.
