So the other day when i had my alternator off i took out the Crank PS and cleaned it off. Checked the connector and put everything back. All seems to fine fine and well.....but now when i accelerate hard or pretty heavy i have the emergency parking brake light come on and this happens most of the time when i do this it will stay on for a little bit and then go off.

Is that light attached to any warning system? and if so what? (other then the barking brake)

haha u said barking brake. Um I think the light is only connected to the one wire for the brake. Maybe u are going so fast ur parking brake is pulling up from the forward momentum (j/k) im really not sure what it could be. Do u have ABS?

It's connected to two sources. The parking brake, and the reservoir. If you're low on fluid, it will light up as well, which makes it a little confusing to troubleshoot..

Have you popped your headlights? I swapped my alternator and had the same problem, except when my headlights were on when it happened, they would pop. Turns out my new alt was overcharging (peaked about 19 volts).

I have my TT on the voltage to watch it always between 14.3 - 14.7 unless i put a load on the system.

Also turns out my brake fluid was low. Go figure i feel pretty stupid now. I can swap out and engine all by myself and put in my 1J but can't figure out my brake fluid is low. Guess i ground through these pads pretty fast :( I just put some EBC Green stuff on the front and some 3rd party performance pads on the rear all new this mid summer. Maybe i'll go for the EBC Red stuff as i think it should last longer. Unless anyone has any suggestions on other performance pad choices.

My rotors are after market OEM replacement Brembo's that are cross-drilled.

Ninja Edit: In my defense i have never had that light come on before. Usually i get to my pads first before the level gets to low. I have not actually looked at my pads yet but thats what makes the most sense, right?

I know the light means low brake fluid only because my old RA64 had this chronic brake fluid leak, and would lose a litre a week, then the light would come on :p

so don't feel too bad about not knowing it. I mean, honestly, how often does that light EVER come on to mean low fluid.
