Weird question about Yellowstar bulbs!

Fellas, check the Yellowstar bulbs (H4) on this link:

I do not understand why the 85/110W are more expensive than the 90/130W. Isn't that odd? Price seems to increase the same way the Watts increase... but not with these bulbs!

A friend of mine wants these for his 86 (or so) Accord, which has the Hella Housing conversion, the same one I purchased. (I have super white 80/100W bulbs, Optilux).

I called those people, and they say "that's the price suggested by Hella"... in other words, they don't know why.

A crazy thought could be: maybe, the 90/130W are frying up the wires, so less people buy them :p Heh... I have no idea. Any insight on this?

Easy... it's the usual rule of supply and demand.

There is a large supply of the conventional bulbs, as lots of places have regulations that restrict the wattage you are allowed to run on the street. The demand isn't that high, so voila, lower price.

There is no difference in manufacturing costs.

Sounds logic.

What doesn't sound logic, are those regulations against high wattage! How's anyone gonna notice? I mean, is a cop going to stop you because your lights are too bright? :p. ..

Thanks!

They implemented those rules because US spec lights have poor focus, so high wattage bulbs will blind oncoming traffic. :( This is why I always fit my vehicles with European spec lights - overseas, they regulate the focus rather than the power, which makes a hell of a lot more sense.
