weird problem with my cooling system

Ever since mid summer I have had problems with my cooling system leaking, at first it was due to some bad hoses, instead of replacing the bad hoses I replaced all the hoses, thermostat, and even the thermostat housing due to having a crack in it, all coolant sensors, ect. a few weeks ago I was heading back from work went home for a few and then left for a concert and as pulling out noticed a small puddle on the ground, I realized I forgot to replace the small hose at the bottom of the thermostat housing, which had just recently got a crack in it, replaced that, no more leaks. a week later notice another small puddle on the ground, checked for leaks and loose hoses but didnt appear to have any. after that it has not leaked since. I know I dont have a BHG due to having none of the symptoms. Is there something im missing that every month or so I'll have a small puddle?

something else is still leaking.

get a pressure tester. it hooks into the radiator. with the motor cold pump it up and see that it holds pressure, if it dosnt, find where it is leaking from.

if you see NO external leaks, then it may be a BHG.

if you have strange over heating problems, another way to check for a BHG is to attatch the pressure tester, start the car up and let it warm up. again, check the pressure gauge to see that it is holding the correct temperature with little fluctuations.

If its on the ground its not the BHG. When the weather turns cold, the hoses shink up a bit, and will coolant will find a leak at a clamp point. About 3x a year I put a screwdriver to all my clamps, and "snug' em up a bit.

Have your radiator cap tested, or just replace it.

I haven't touched my cooling system in 2 years, and it shouldn't need constant maintenance.

Mrnickleye that's exactly why the stock hose clamps are superior to aftermarket gear/screw clamps. They keep constant tension on the hoses, so you don't have to screw around with it.

Yes, this is a true thing. But afyter the car has been worked on thru the years, they disappear. And most people (including lazy me:nono: ) won't go to dealer and order them.

its not from the aircon condensating water? sometimes i see a few drops to a puddle on the ground. What part of the car is the puddle under? can give you/us a clue where its coming from.

yes, I replaced my cap just a few months ago , and the small puddles are around the firewall area and at random times, I can also hear a slight running water sound at certain times when its really cold out (yesterday it was 15 degrees out) but when its warmer there is no sound. Im guessing that it might be the heater core but im not 100% sure.
