I want to do the SOGI short shifter mod the same time I change the clutch in the car next weekend and want to get a weighted shift knob. Do you guys know of any shift knobs that are both weighted and use the allen screw type fastening system?

Ive looked around and all i can find is the greddy knob, but its threaded and not the universal screw type.

you dont want one of those allen set screw types anyway. they're the suck. the set screws always loosen up, (especially if you dont get the "green truck shifter gasket" to tighten up the slack in the shifter)

just cut the stick, and re-thread it for the stock shift knob. much better in my opinion.

I did the sogi mod. The shifter I'm using is a MOMO carbon fibre weighted sphere. Nice knob(that's what she said). But as mentioned it does tend to come loose for the first while till you tighten it a few times and get some indents into the shaft.(she said that too).

I'm using a Momo shift knob on a C's shifter. (Has had the upper part removed like the Sogi mod, so it's shorter, and has shorter throws.)

I have the knob up about as high as possible to gain back some of the lost stick height, and have no problems with it getting loose. (Just take care that you don't over tighten the set screws.)

It is pretty heavy compared to the stock plastic setup. I really don't see any difference however, and if anything, my rebuilt transmission is so "new" that it is tough to shift this car some times. (Getting better as I put more miles on the transmission, and it breaks in.)

Thanks a lot guys, I couldnt find that weighted MOMO knob anywhere dude. But I will probably just get it welded like Grim suggested.

The shifter mod thing is ok and suits the purpose for awhile, but if you can afford it I'd suggest going with a shorter throw shifter kit as there are a couple of different types available now. The weighted shifter knob is the way to go if you can find one. Try the MOMO site.
