I wanted to know, how much do MK3 Supra's actually weigh? I've asked around but I always got different numbers, so I'd like to ask here. Secondly, if it helps, my car is a 91 n/a 5-speed , with a moonroof, any ballpark figures for how much it weighs? What about the seats? If I took out my backseats, drivers seat and replaced it with a lighter racing seat, how much weight can I drop from the car? I'd like to drop atleast 200 lbs from the car, so any help would be appreciated, thanks.

Do a search, and somewhere you'll find the spreadsheet file that has a breakdown of the weights of individual things.

Curb weight on the car is about 3400. With Gas, passenger, etc. you can expect the car to weigh around 3700 I'd say.

I'd say the quickest ways to drop weight are to remove the seats, replace the drivers seat with a CF race seat, lighter wheels, CF Hood, remove the sound deadening material, and remove the spare tire....

Even then, you might loose 120 pounds, the interior would be ugly, and you'd spend a pretty penny on the wheels, seat, and hood.

well, 91/92's are the heaviest, as they had more sound deadening material added, and even the lower dash panel is heavy, it went from a couple of ounces in 86.5-1989 models, to around 3 pounds for 90+ cars, and went from plastic to a heavy foam material...

also the airbag, sensors and computer add weight, not to mention door speakers, sunroof motors, wiring, balanced crank, etc..

that is a good point but his is also a hard top..and targas are heavier. im not saying they weigh the same but do you think my 88 targa is close to his 91 hardtop. or you think all the extra stuff on the new ones outweighs the extra stuff needed for targa cars. and obviously i know the 90+ targas will weigh the most...either way, the only real way to know is to weigh his car bc they will all be slightly different. OP i say take it to a landfill and use their scale. or go to the state patrol office and see if they have the scales they use for 18 wheelers

could swing either way, I know targas are around 80lbs heavier, my 89 targa definitely feels heavier than my 92 hardtop, but my girl's 86.5 targa feels the lightest, though...

maybe it's because that one has TEMS as well..? It has every option except leather and a turbo, ahha..

either way a base model NA 5-speed hardtop with cloth would be the lightest possible Supra, probably in the low 3000's..

my 1jz r154 hardtop 91 weighted around 3450 without driver and a 1/3 tank of gas.
lighter seats can drop you about 50 lbs.

there is one guy around here that has his vehicle weight under 3000 and has it in his sig.

for every 100 lbs you loose, you run 1/10th of a second faster in the 1/4 mile.
so 1000 lbs would be 1 second of a difference.

you're talking about Aglobalthreat..

that guy is insane..!

I love his car, he's gotten rid of the mirrors, FD light weight rims, swapped his taillights (pre 89 metal centers for the taillights is pure metal and heavy as hell!) I also believe he has 89+ trim but I'm not 100% sure. He has a FG hood (or painted CF), a gutted interior and other things...

Right now I'm just going to get rid of my backseats, switch my drivers seat for my passengers, and just run one seat for now. How much weight can I shave off just from taking out the back and drivers seat? I would like to remove all my speakers n stuff but I likes my music too much... lol
