So- last night as I was walking to my house, I noticed that the brake lights on my supra (86.5 NA) were on. I figured I had left the switch partially on while I was working on it earlier. So- I walked out to it, and nothing was on, so I started messing with things to try to figure it out. After a couple of minutes, something started beeping (probably the fan controller I just installed) and then power cut out to the entire car. So- I'm kinda weirded out by the entire thing. I'm thinking that it's most likely something that I didn't connect when hooking everything back up. But we'll see. Any ideas? Thanks!

sound like some of my issues, I've also got an 86.5, the alarm will go off randomly and when I open doors something starts beeping, not a door chime. Check the fuseable link for the alt under the hood, lmk what you see. I also have a fan controller, where is your installed?

Ok, I'll check the fuseable link for the alt when I get up in the AM... One problem is the battery- I must have cracked a cell or something... But in any case, it's dead. That's ok though, because it had a 36 month warranty and it was only 4 months old. So- It'll get replaced. However, the problem still remains of locating the problem that caused it to blow in the first place. My fan controller is made by perma-cool. It's installed over where the ABS stuff would go if I had ABS. It takes a power line from the positive post of the battery with an inline fuse between the battery and the controller. It has a ground that goes to chassis. Two wires go to the two fans, with a ground coming off of the fans. Another line is reserved for the AC pressure switch, which I installed a terminator on because my AC doesn't work ATM, so I didn't feel like hooking it up. I'm also not entirely sure which is the line for the pressure switch. But it shouldn't have been caused by the fan controller- It's properly wired with sufficient grounds and resistance, so it's bound to be in the car's wiring. I just put the head back on, so it's entirely possible that I hooked something up wrong. On your 86.5 there should be two wires on the intake side of the engine coming out of the wiring harness that have ring terminals installed on the end. One is brown and the other is white. Where are they installed on your car? If you don't know what I'm talking about, I'll take pictures and post them up. Thanks!

BTW--- this is my 100th post! :-D

my bet is the brake light switch, ive heard of the pedal easing down slowly and cutting it on after a few hours of just the gentle pressure from the brake pedal itself.
