Water temperature sensorin 1jz

hi.please give me some hints...my friend done the 1jz swap in his mk3 last year and the car never run right.,i test ride his car it seem like it loss of power and kinda sluggish and popping back and forth after run the car for 10 minute.some friend in here tell me check the ecu and i did purchase a stealth ecu but the problem is still...i don't know it got something to do with water temperature because he never hood up the water temperature gauge and one more thing when he connect the water sensor to the gauge the needle gauge always stay on hot ...please help with this problem for god sake..thank you...

An engine could not run right for many reasons take it to a 1jz-gte specialist in your area.

you would think the issue is not the ecu since both do the same thing.

Have the harness on the car been extended? Yes=then it might be wiring! No=then if wiring is untampered with it should be fine.

Mechanical issue that cause poor running bad coils needs plugs bad sensors no compression off timing vacume leak etc..

i don't think it cause of wiring because when i first start up the engine its idle and run very good but after its getting hot the problem occurs

The wire isnt grounded for the temp sensor on the harness, that will make it read hot 24/7. Don't do the "resistor" mod, thats old school redneck repair.

Check the coil's for cracks. It will have them. Take some epoxy or nail polish and fill them all.

Also, check the MAP for vacuum leaks in the hose.

yea i checked mine yesterday while trying to figure out my stupid problem and i have no cracks on mine. Lucky??? or just a well taken care of motor? i dunno haha

i did check the coil pack and found out it got crack on the coil...i will pix the coil and see the car run any better..thank you for help me out..i let you guys know the result..

it still happend...i don't know what to do...it really suck ..

check the resistance on all the wires in the harness??? only thing i can think of is something is grounding out or yur ECU is going bad LOLOL

can you guy show me how ground that coolent wire..is that the water temperature sensor you mean??? i'm really suck on this one..help me

ok.. i see the water sensor with 2 prong with plastic in green color, inside they got 2 wire one is green and one kinda dark tan so which one i should ground out???
